We're certainly known best for delivering quality STCW medical training across the levels, working in conjunction with a number of partners across the UK. But STCW medical courses are just one aspect of the training that we can deliver for our clients?

Between the Caribbean and Mediterranean seasons, our instructors can be found in a number of European ports, supporting our superyacht clients with a variety of highly bespoke onboard training sessions. From general refresher training to something more guest specific such as trauma, medical emergencies, paediatrics or elderly care, we will put the ideal training package together for your situation . We also assist with risk assessment as vessels plan to welcome guests with particular, and sometimes complex, healthcare needs.

Year-round, we also provide a range of first aid, STCW  and other medical training courses to a host of clients from superyachts to sports clubs, cruise ships to tall ships, work boat operators to RNLI volunteers. Here’s a quick rundown of what we have to offer:

STCW Medical Training

Run in conjunction with our partners across the UK we can deliver the full range of STCW medical training including:

Feedback from STCW Medical Training

Bespoke Onboard (or remote!) Medical Training

Our most common request is for a day or two of refresher training for a superyacht crew in between seasons, leisure yacht crew about to undertake an Ocean crossing, or World record setting ocean rowers! 

A discovery call guides the plan for the training and our team will train onboard or at a suitable location, using your kit, your team and relating it to your environment.

Feedback from Onboard Training

Remote Training

We deliver remote training sessions to superyachts, commercial vessels and cruise ships. This training can cover any topic that you need, and those areas where a refresh would be useful, such as TIAs and stroke management, ammonia/methanol first aid or scene assessment and immediate actions for life threatening injuries.

This type of training is most useful for general awareness, or if you will be hosting a guest with specific or complex healthcare needs.

Again this is run by our experienced trainers who are all familiar with life at sea.

IAMI Guest Mental Health and Wellbeing

This one day course, called ‘Stress Happens’, is delivered onboard by our Paramedic trainers, who have in-depth experience of managing a range of mental health conditions, and is run in conjunction with Impact Crew. 

Stress Happens can be delivered as non accredited training, but is approved to be delivered as Unit 44 of IAMI Guest training, adding even more value to the course.

Narrated pre reading expands the knowledge base of course attendees and our skilled trainers make the day a safe space to share and explore thoughts and feelings. You can see some feedback from our Mental Health and Wellbeing courses below.

Feedback from our IAMI GUEST Accredited Health and Wellbeing Course

Accredited First Aid Training 

We can offer a choice of courses, all accredited by First Aid Awards (FAA). These qualifications are regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation and sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

These first aid and health and safety qualifications are ideal for businesses including marinas, training centres, yacht clubs, recruitment companies and more, who require a regulated qualification for first aiders in the workplace and we’ve listed the most popular options below… but there are many more on offer!

In the not too distant future, we hope to be able to offer accredited first aid qualifications alongside other training, increasing the value to the client and helping to make a transition from onboard to shore side, with greater recognition of qualifications outside purely the maritime world.
